Product Test Engineer (KCI)
SUMMARY:
Provides technical support and feedback to engineering groups for new product introduction for mobile handset devices. Audits, tests, document results and identifies problems of software and software products using standard test procedures. Developing professional expertise applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years experience with knowledge of CDMA systems and standards
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to execute detailed instructions and procedures
- Experience in formal test, especially test planning, is preferred
- Knowledge of Wireless Communications Systems
- Knowledge of test equipment, telecommunications systems, and data communication layers are preferred
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of protocol logging tools preferred (for example, QXDM)
- Software development cycle and test process experience preferred
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works from customer requirements and industry standards to enhance product performance
- Analyzes and generates test reports for development engineering review
- Defines test equipment requirements to support test execution of new features
- Executes test cases, troubleshoot failures and provides feedback on feature maturity
- Debugs and characterizes defects and prioritizes software problems
- Performs repetitive regression test cases on updated software releases
- Reviews and interprets technical documents and Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) specifications
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Works in an office environment
- Travel up to 50%
